Preamble

Welcome to Yawn Wider! If you're here, then it's likely you're new to the server. If you're a bit lost or confused, you've come to the right page as this one will be full of information that all new players to this server or in SS13 in general will need to know.

While here, it's strongly recommended you read over the server rules and lore before fully jumping into the game.

Player Expectations

Yawn Wider is a Medium-Heavy Roleplay Server with requirements that state all players to stay IC and follow the rules at all times while partaking in a round, though funny moments that are vaguely IC are allowed. Further information can be found on the server rules page. Typically most rounds last for ~20 hours max if no votes are made to cut the round short beforehand. Which happens every 4 hours.

Getting Started

If you're familiar with the layout of SS13 you'll have no issue navigating the button layout of the character menu or the game panel and can move past this part of the guide. If you're not, though, here's what you need to know:

When you join, you will see this menu.

Boot Menu

1. Character Setup - This button opens the Character Creator menu in which you can create your character.
2. View the Crew Manifest - This button shows the Crew Manifest.
3. Join Game! - Clicking this opens a menu that displays all the job roles you can join as during the round.
4. Observe - Observe will let you join the round as an observer, whatever you see during this time is OOC information and is not to be used ICly should you play.
5. View Changelog - Shows the changelog for the server.
6. Give Feedback - Allows you to provide your input towards the server.
