The outpost was initially built by ... to cut down and ship the trees of the planet. They had done this because it was discovered that the trees had an extremely high burnability, and could be used as efficient fuel in areas where fuel or heat was provided from lumber.

Eventually NT discovered the reason those trees were so efficient was due to phoron deposits found underground, once this discovery was made they immediately bought the facility off of ... without revealing those findings, they now house both mining and lumbering operations using the facility.

The facility was renovated to house a research outpost as well as extra amenities seen throughout most of all of the NT operated stations.

As of now, the facility is still in the midst of renovations, but workers have already been sent to start mining and lumbering operations on Cryogaia. Workers come and go through a shuttle system to a station that orbits the planet, which houses living quarters and from where transport ships come and go to bring supplies or transport crewmember to their homes, if they are not stationed in the station.

The Nanotrasen Commerce Station Serenity orbits the planet Borealis Majoris, it is where the crew and transport shuttles come and go from. It is mainly used for crew habitation and commerce, where lumber and phoron are shipped out from.

APMK: Back of envelope double-check math pass, keeping numbers to a minimum to ease readability and because their accuracy isn't great, added the small detail of tilting the planets due to long binary period, even if it might have been some ammount shorter when young.

APMK: Redid "Star System" section to include it's two stars and nebula, plus small wording changes to other sections to fit. Redid "Distance from star" under the planet info to account for this and be a range measured in astronomical units. Fixed the one ellipsis that didn't match in the second paragraph of "NSB Cyogaia Story".
